This album is inspired by Jules Verne's “Journey to the Centre of the Earth” and also Rick Wakeman's 1974 album of the same name. I've also seen the 1959 movie of the same name many times.

I seem to need a theme to compose rather than random tracks hence my fascination with the flat earth theory (“Sounds from the Flat Earth”), the subject of whether there are aliens (“Encounters”), spirituality (“Consciousness”), sci-fi (“The Void”) and myths and legends (“The Dark Forrest”).

I'm also a big fan of progressive rock especially from the 1970's-era of concept albums and I think that is where the real inspiration came for this new album. Someone recently said to me that it had an “old” sound to it which I took as a compliment.

The album was mainly composed and played on the Roland FA 06 Work Station with additional help from the CA2600 virtual synth plug-in.
